Dear DONOR:

This letter is to acknowledge your extraordinary and generous donation of the mare/stallion  NAME (AHA #_______) to the Institute. They will be retained and used in the Institute’s DARE program, a core mission of the Institute. We received the registration certificates and will transfer ownership with AHA shortly. We understand from your letter that you are waiving professional appraisal and accepting an estimated market value less than $5,000 for the horse. (Alternate: “We have received a copy of the appraisal made by NAME OF APPRAISER showing an appraised value of $_______.)

The Institute for the Desert Arabian Horse is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit public charity, Tax Identification No. 20-1127613. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent provided by law. You should retain this letter as documentation for your tax records. Given the market value you have stated, the Institute need not complete IRS Form 8283.  (Alternate if appraised value greater than $5,000:  Enclosed is IRS Form 8283, Donee Acknowledgment, which may be needed when you prepare your tax return.)
